Description: The Current East Post Road Bridge over Indian Creek was constructed around 1958 and remodeled in 1978. The typical lifespan of a bridge of this design is about 50 years. It is the City's intent to replace the bridge and approach roadways with facilitites that can accommodate current traffic levels as well as estimated traffic for the foreseeable future.
Design Features:
* Current East Post Road traffic volumes in
the study are approximately 6,000 vehicles per day.
* 12 foot through lanes and a 14 foot turn lane.
* Both a multi-use trail and a sidewalk would
be
incorporated into the road, with a sidewalk on
at least one side of the bridge.
* Shoulder: 4 feet on either side of the
road / bridge.
* Indian Creek Bicycle Trail maintained as part
of the project. |
