Project Update:  The final leg of the Pearl of the Mississippi Trail System has begun in Muscatine, Iowa. A mile long segment connecting two existing trails, one coming from the waterfront and the other from Weed Park. The trail follows an old Stagecoach route next to the IC & E Railroad under cover of mature trees below the bluff. As the trail leaves the woodlands it traverses above a very steep slope by way of 5 bridges and a beautiful observation deck-arbor. Piles and foundations are currently being installed at the bridge location. The whole project should be complete by late summer.
